Yoga is the spiritual aspect of Ayurveda; Ayurveda is the healing aspect of Yoga. They are two sides of the same coin. Yoga is the science of how to attain peace of mind; Ayurveda is the science of how to create optimal health. Together, Ayurveda and Yoga provide a set of skills and the knowledge to attain these goals.
Ayurvedic treatments utilize lifestyle, herbs, diet, and sensory therapies (color therapy, aromatherapy, sound therapy, and massage therapy) as the tools to restore and maintain balance. Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy utilizes breathing practices (pranayama), postures (asana), and meditation as the tools to maintain and restore balance.
